Cheesefare

aka Pizza week in Orthodox homes around the world.

Last night I booted Sara out of the kitchen (as i often do), and began crafting a pizza that will live in our hearts and minds for quite a long time to come.

Essentially, it was the delightful crust (par baked on a pizza stone with a little olive oil), mozzarella, parmesan, and goat cheese that made this great. Not to mention the mushrooms, garlic, olives, bell pepper, and onions. I sauted the onions in olive oil for about 5 minutes...this helps soften and sweeten them up a bit. And the goat cheese...ohhh the goat cheese (single tear)...i sorta of randomly bombed out sections of the pizza with this stuff. Sprinkled just small amount of parmesan over the pie. One more thin layer of mozzarella and into the oven. While the aesthetic has been sacrificed to the gods of cheese and veggie pile, the resulting taste in incredible. Can't wait till lunch today.

Being an Anglican one actually looks forward to dishes like this during lent.

Yum! It looks fabulous.

We can relate, it's pizza week here too!

(we have a pizza stone as well - I LOVE it, I use it for everything that doesn't ooze off of it.)

Oh! Thanks for reminding me!! I need to add pizza to the menu this week.
Looks good. I am a goat cheese kind girl, myself. With sun dried tomatoes.Yum.

Amen. Pizza night is nearly here in our household.

Mmm...

*note to self*: Go to store and buy pizza fixings. Nothing beats homemade!!! Minus the onions :D haha.

Happy Cheesefare week!
